Clock DVA: Second Sight
PC-Press are proud to announce the definitive book about Adi Newton entitled ‘Second Sight’ by Paolo Bertoni.
The book comes in a standard and deluxe edition with a new Clock DVA CD album compiling music that was a long awaited lost album from the whole of the 2010’s.
The book covers Newton’s 50 year career; the driving force behind Clock DVA, The Anti Group, The Future and a key figure in the development of electronic, industrial and experimental music and sound exploration starting in the late 1970s.
Based in Sheffield and a part of a music scene that produced Cabaret Voltaire, Human League, Heaven Seventeen, Chakk, Artery, ABC and later FON studios and Warp Records, Newton was part of the early fanzine writers scene with his Gun Rubber fanzine and then moved in to the experimental music scene around the same time as Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire and later on Test Department.
The book examines in wonderful detail Newton’s biography the cultural context of the time and works through the extensive discography that Newton has built up from Clock DVA and The Anti Group through Psychophysicist, Spectral Unit and EXT Volume 1.
