KISMIF Conference 2024: Living on the Edge

PC-Press Presents: A series of discussions about its recent publications ‘Looking For A Kiss’ the post-punk beat novel and the Vague Fanzines 1979 – 1984 books, plus a new collaboration with and discussion of the book ‘Naked Punk‘ from the Rizofera and Obsolete Capitalism Collective and Matthew Worley discussing his new fanzines book ‘Zerox Machine‘ From Reaktion Books

We’ll have as a key speakers Richard Cabut, Letizia Rustichelli, Paolo Davoli.

 

Richard Cabut

Richard Cabut’s journalism has featured in the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, NME (pen name Richard North), ZigZag, The Big Issue, Time Out, Offbeat magazine, the Independent, Artists & Illustrators magazine, thefirstpost, London Arts Board/Arts Council England, Siren magazine, etc. He was a Features Writer with the BBC for several years. He co-edited/-contributed to the anthology Punk is Dead: Modernity Killed Every Night (Zer0 Books, October 2017), and was also a contributor to Ripped, Torn and Cut – Pop, Politics and Punks Fanzines From 1976 (Manchester University Press, 2018) and Growing Up With Punk (Nice Time, 2018). He will be talking about his post-punk beat novel Looking For A Kiss.

 

Letizia Rustichelli

Letizia Rustichelli is an independent researcher at Rizosfera and Obsolete Capitalism collective. She will be presenting her book “Naked Punk”.

 

Paolo Davoli

Paolo Davoli, is an independent researcher at Rizosfera and Obsolete Capitalism collective. He will be presenting his book “Naked Punk”.

 

Peter Webb

Also speaking at the conference is PC-Press owner and creative director Pete Webb:
Peter Webb is a writer, lecturer and musician who specializes in research into popular and contemporary music, subcultures, politics and social theory. He is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of England, Bristol. Webb previously worked within an independent record label from 1990 – 2002 as an artist and tour manager, the physical theatre companies Blast Theory and Intimate Strangers and the film company Parallax Pictures. He is the Owner and Creative Director of the publishing company PC-Press – which has published books about Test Dept, Killing Joke and Massive Attack. He is currently making music with a project called New Brand.
