Adi Newton joins KISMIF 2026 in Porto as a keynote speaker.

KISMIF (“Keep It Simple, Make It Fast!”) is the international academic conference on DIY cultures, held at the University of Porto.

On 8 July, at Casa da Música (the Rem Koolhaas building), Adi will be in public conversation with sociologist Dr Pete Webb (PC Press) — tracing his path from The Future in 1977 and the founding of Clock DVA in 1978 through to today. A rare chance to hear one of the defining figures of industrial and experimental electronics in his own words.

Rizosfera & Armcomm Europe & PC Press at KISMIF 2026 — Adi Newton at Casa da Música, Porto (PT)

It is with great pride that we announce our presence at KISMIF 2026, the international conference on DIY cultures, underground scenes and the thinking that runs through them — this year under the banner ‘DIY Cultures, Global Uncertainty and Critical Imagination’.

On 8 July, opening the conference on its very first day, Rizosfera–NUKFM and PC Press present:

Adi Newton (ClockDVA, The Anti Group) in conversation with Peter Webb (PC-Press) on Life, Art and Music.

And we do so in a place that is itself a statement: Casa da Música, designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA, inaugurated in 2005 for Porto’s year as European Capital of Culture and awarded the prestigious RIBA prize. A faceted monolith of white concrete that has become an icon of contemporary European architecture, conceived to host every form of music — from classical to the most experimental electronic work. The perfect setting for a live dialogue with one of the most visionary and radical artists in electronic and industrial culture: almost fifty years of nonconformist sonic research, from the Sheffield avant-garde to the present day.

The event also marks the presentation of Adi Newton: Second Sight, the book by Paolo Bertoni, published by PC Press (UK) and Rizosfera–NUKFM (worldwide): the fullest portrait yet of Adi Newton’s journey.
